Para hacernos una idea de la actividad en torno a una determinada tecnología nada mejor que buscar las normas publicadas al respecto.

Nos parece suficientemente descriptivo y acotador el concepto “multimedia”. Se puede apreciar la gran cantidad de estándares asociados a este término (129) así como también la juventud de tales estándares (abarcan desde 2002  a 2013).

A todo ello hay que añadir el trabajo que se está realizando en los distintos consorcios en relación con la elaboración y publicación de recomendaciones, que aun no tienen reflejo en estándares ISO, pero que actúan de normas de facto en el sector dada la credibilidad e influencia de que disponen estos organismos.
